Sharice lost 126 pounds

Transformation of the Day: Sharice lost 126 pounds. A pre-diabetes diagnosis motivated her to change her lifestyle. She quit junk food and started researching nutrition and the keys to a healthy diet. Working out 5-6 days a week was also part of her plan. Check out her transformation journey.

Sharice before and after

What was your motivation?
My health. My motivation was being diagnosed as pre-diabetic.

What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I’m inspired by how much better I feel on the inside, and the amount of energy I have since embarking on my journey. Looking in the mirror and liking what I see doesn’t hurt either.

How did you change your eating habits?
I threw out all of my junk food, and then I researched how to eat a healthy diet. I stopped eating pork and beef and stopped drinking soda pop and juice. I swapped white rice, bread, and pasta for the browns [brown rice, whole grain…]. I also incorporated tons of vegetables into my diet. I put more veggies on my plate vs. carbs and protein. In 2019, my lactose intolerance got worse, so I no longer consume dairy outside of eggs.

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I started with just doing a speed walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes and lifting light weights 5-6 times a week. I did two-a-day workouts 3 or 4 days/week for a year, 2011-2012.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 305 pounds, and my current weight is 178.6 pounds.

What is your height?
5’10”

When did you start your journey?
March 2011

How long did your transformation take?
It took me about a year to lose 90 pounds. I gained 20-30 lbs from 2015-2018. I recently lost 23 pounds during quarantine, so overall, it took a total of nine years for my full transformation.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that I can do anything I put my mind to. Remain consistent. Do the work. Always choose myself. I also gained so much confidence and have been an inspiration to so many women that I started my fitness and nutrition Youtube Channel, Beasting Beauty Fitness, where I promote a healthy lifestyle through better eating habits, positive thinking, and exercise.

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Just start. Choose yourself and your health. Your weight loss journey should not begin solely out of vanity. Remain consistent and trust the process.

It’s okay to start with baby steps. Eliminate different foods every week, start moving with a long walk, and work your way up to workouts and/or gym membership. It won’t be fast, and it won’t be easy, but it will always be worth it.
