Transformation of the Day: Keaja lost 85 pounds with discipline, dedication, and patience. Switching to a low carb diet, drinking lots of water, and working out 3 to 4 days a week really worked for her.
What was your motivation?
I became very uncomfortable with my weight, and I knew I really needed to make a change. During this journey, my biggest motivation came from looking at my results and realizing how I felt about my weight.
How did you change your eating habits?
I did low carb dieting and cut sugars and fatty foods. I stuck with mostly veggies, fruits, and healthy meats (mainly chicken and shrimp). Also, drinking water is key!
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I exercise 3 to 4 times a week, incorporating cardio (walking, running, elliptical) and HIIT workouts.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I have lost 85 pounds and counting. I started at 255 pounds, and I currently weight 170 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m about 5’5″.
When did you start your weight loss journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in July 2017. Within the 1st year, I met my original goal of 50 pounds and kept trusting the process.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I lost the weight naturally. The journey to a healthier lifestyle has been far from easy, but I wouldn’t have done it any other way.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
This journey taught me how to love myself more and showed me the strength I didn’t even know I had. It took a lot of discipline, dedication, and patience. Even when I didn’t see results as fast as I wanted, my faith kept me going. There when times I fell off or ate badly, but I never lost focus.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Change starts with you. You have to really want it and work for it.
Trusting the process is key. Be gentle with yourself.
